چکیده

A high-performance lateral polysilicon photodiode was designed in standard 0.18 μm CMOS technology. The device has a frequency bandwidth far in the GHz range: the measured bandwidth of the poly photodiode was 6 GHz, which figure was limited by the measurement equipment. The high intrinsic (physical) bandwidth is due to a short excess carrier lifetime. The external (electrical) bandwidth is also high because of a very small parasitic capacitance (<0.1 pF). This is the best bandwidth performance among all reported diodes designed in a standard CMOS. The quantum efficiency of this poly photodiode is 0.2% due to the very small light sensitive diode volume. The diode active area is limited by a narrow depletion region and its depth by the technology.

A fully-integrated 12.5-Gb/s 850-nm CMOS optical receiver based on a spatially-modulated avalanche photodetector.

We present a fully integrated 12.5-Gb/s optical receiver fabricated with standard 0.13-µm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology for 850-nm optical interconnect applications. Our integrated optical receiver includes a newly proposed CMOS-compatible spatially-modulated avalanche photodetector, which provides larger photodetection bandwidth than previously reported CMOS-compati...

Sub-bandgap polysilicon photodetector in zero-change CMOS process for telecommunication wavelength.

We report a defect state based guided-wave photoconductive detector at 1360-1630 nm telecommunication wavelength directly in standard microelectronics CMOS processes, with zero in-foundry process modification. The defect states in the polysilicon used to define a transistor gate assists light absorption. The body crystalline silicon helps form an inverse ridge waveguide to confine optical mode....

Fully Differential Current Buffers Based on a Novel Common Mode Separation Technique

In this paper a novel common mode separation technique for implementing fully differential current buffers is introduced.  Using the proposed method two high CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio) and high PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) fully differential current buffers in BIPOLAR and CMOS technologies are implemented.   Simulation results by HSPICE using 0.18μm TSMC process for CMOS based st...
